The Game - A race to the bottom of the earth

This hand-made board game was created as a gift to the director of the production of Terra Nova and presented to her at the end of the run. Based on the actual events in the play (and the true life story of the failed expedition to the South Pole), the game uses a spinner to advance your expedition leader so to plant your flag at the south pole. Along the way, you draw risk cards which either advance you, make you wait, give up a food ration, etc. -- all based on the events of the play. The winner is the first to get to the pole, plant his flag (removable from the pawn) and return to his base camp "alive." The game actually plays fairly well and takes about 10 minutes or so.

Elements: Folding board with routes of the actual expeditions; Rations container with bundled rations (beads); 20 Risk cards with images from the actual expedition; Compass Spinner; Pawns of Amundsen and Scott with detachable flags in plastic; Box top with quotes from the play; Box inside with rules of the game to look like it is written in a journal.

It took a bunch of hours and one of a kind!
